Students worked with Union Stagehands in order to prepare a full length production for a once in a lifetime performance in front of an audience of 2,500 of florida high school theatre students. Just 6 hours later the show is ready to begin. AHS students enjoyed watching from the seats, backstage, or even the lighting booth at the very top of the theatre (3 balconies high).

Students involved with TV and Theatre interns were able to work closely with teachers and understand the abiltiy to multitask in order to successfully create the task and projects.

  1. Shark TV produced a 4 hour long “Holiday Special” that aired in December over the CCTV system of AHS, featuring original holiday-themed videos from its students.
  2. Shark TV also produced a 6 hour long “End- of-the-Year Special” that will air in June over the CCTV system of AHS, featuring original school-based videos from its students.
  3. Shark TV continued throughout the year to document the daily school curriculums and special activities of Atlantic High School including: the AVID program, Drama, Dance, Band, and Vocal performances, student-driven in-class presentations, as well as various ceremonies for ROTC, Black History Month, Mr. and Miss AHS, etc.

Both the theatre students and the TV Production student are college bound with knowledge and abilities to make them successful in programs. Actors are knowledgeable in techniques, movement, and voice production. Technicians have experience with lighting, sound, costume, makeup & hair design and prop and set constructions. Students are also experienced in Stage and Set Management. This experience will allow an easy transition into college and/or the Arts of Communication field of their preference.
Standard 3: Program of Study
All students must take a minimum of three years of TV Productions, four years of Honors/AP English, and one year of Theatre. Students may also take Band, Chorus, and/or Dance electives.

Standard 7: Common Planning / Collaboration
Meetings and collaboration occur at common lunch time. Planning and discussion also take place after school and during production process. We could not have a common planning which made everything more challenging to organize. Communication was often made via emails.

3d Art has had a busy year of creating and, more importantly, networking within the community.
The department has a great collaboration with Port Orange's ArtHaus.
